It is a non- profit organisation that represents 39 youth card organisations in 36 countries across Europe. It was born in 2008 and the first name was “Euro< 26 “, now they changed the name because the age of limit now is 30 years, not 26.
This card is issued in 3 versions: a classic card, a student card or a so-called co-brand card. With the last card there are various partners like banks, railway companies and municipalities. The design is different but you have the same benefits. The main office of EYCA is in the Netherlands.
With this card you have a lot of discounts on culture, accommodation, travel, shopping and more! You can search the entire list of discounts by category, city or country on the database with an interactive map. The price is around 5 to 19 euro and depending on the country, it’s usually issued for one year.
It’s possible also for the people coming from outside of Europe to have the possibility to buy the card online through the Kiosk webshop.
There is also the application for iPhone called GeoDiscount. This application has been shortlisted among the best smart phone applications in the Apps Rulezz competitions in Slovakia. It’s very easy to use. You can see all the discounts close to your current location; you need before to switch on the GPS of the phone.
If you like to travel with this card you have discount also train and rent a car. As in Poland you have 10% discount for fly with the Polish Airlines, in Croatia 30% in the bus, in Andorra 10% on the bus from Barcelona, Toulouse and Girona. 10 % of discount for rent a car in Bulgaria, 15% in Montenegro, 30% Spain and Slovenia.
With only 10 € you can pay less for travel, for accommodation, for museums!
