Dublin is the capital of Ireland and it’s on the east coast of the island. Its population is of 1, 1million and one of its landmarks is the Half Penny Bridge. Berlin is located in the east of Germany and has about 3, 5 million inhabitants. It’s the biggest city of Germany and its most famous landmark is the “Brandenburger Tor”.
Interesting sights in Dublin:
The Half Penny Bridge is the most famous bridge in Dublin. It connects the north and the south side of the city. In the past everyone who wanted to cross the bridge had to pay half-a-penny!
Near to the bridge you can find St. Patrick’s Cathedral which is the biggest church of Ireland and it was built in 1191.
It’s also interesting to visit the Guinness Storehouse. It’s a museum which illustrates the history of Guinness beer. At the end of the tour you will get a pint for free and enjoy a wonderful view over the city.
The Phoenix Park is the biggest park in Dublin and it has an area of 808 ha, you can also find Dublin Zoo inside the park.
The shopping district is located in the heart of the city. You can find very nice fashion stores there!
The district called Temple Bar is located in the south-side of the river Liffey and it’s famous for its variety of pubs, restaurants and bars.
Don’t miss in Berlin:
The town’s landmark is the “Brandenburger Tor”. From the time of the DDR the “Brandenburger Tor” separates the east and the west of Berlin into two areas. Of course nowadays there is no more separation and the ”Brandenburger Tor” is one of the most famous sights in Germany.
Furthermore the “Reichstag” is also one of the most famous sights in Germany. A lot of visitors from all over the world visit it and it’s also possible to go sightseeing throughout the building.
The “Alexanderplatz” is one of the most important traffic junctions in Berlin. Only pedestrians can walk it and every day it is crossed by 300, 000 people.
Near to the “Alexanderplatz” you can find the highest tower of Berlin, the “Fernsehturm”. It’s about 368m high and from top you have a great view over Berlin.
Very famous for its fashion stores is the ”Kurfuerstendamm”. You can find very nice (and expensive) clothes there.
There’s not only one but many districts in Berlin for going out or dining. One of these districts is located in the city centre and it’s near to the “Hackeschen Hoefe”. In “Kreuzberg” are there are a lot of pubs, boutiques, cafés and restaurants as well.
Berlin is very international, people from over 25 nations live in the capital of Germany.
Big companies like Air Berlin or Deutsche Bahn AG have their headquarters in Berlin.

Was muss man in Dublin gesehen haben?
Die Half Penny Bridge, die beruehmteste Bruecke Dublins, verbindet die Nord- und Suedseite der Stadt. Die Bruecke bekam ihren Namen dadurch, dass man frueher als Fussgaenger Maut in Hoehe von einem halben Penny bezahlen musste.
Unweit davon befindet sich die St. Patrick’s Cathedral, die groesste Kirche Irlands. Sie wurde ab 1191 gebaut.
Fuer alle Bierliebhaber lohnt sich ein Besuch im Guinness Storehouse, ein Museum, das die Geschichte des Guinness-Bieres darstellt. Ein Pint ist im Preis mit inbegriffen.
Der groesste Park in Dublin ist der Phoenixpark mit einer Flaeche von 808 ha. Der Zoo von Dublin ist ebenfalls dort zu finden.
Direkt in der Innenstadt befindet sich die Einkaufsmeile. Man findet hier teure, aber auch guenstige Modemarken.

Hierzu zaehlt ebenfalls der Reichstag, in dem der deutsche Bundestag seinen Sitz hat. Beliebt ist er bei Touristen aus aller Welt und eine Fuehrung durch das Gebaeude ist moeglich.
Der Alexanderplatz zaehlt zu den wichtigsten Verkehrsknotenpunkten Berlins. Er wird ausschliesslich von Fussgaengern benutzt und taeglich passieren ihn 300.000 Menschen.
Der hoechste Turm Berlins, unweit vom Alexanderplatz, ist der Fernsehturm mit einer Hoehe von 368m. Von oeben hat man eine gute Aussicht ueber Berlin.
Der 3, 5 km lange Kurfuerstendamm ist die exklusive Einkaufsmeile der Hauptstadt. Hier findet man bekannte und teure Modemarken.
Direkt in der Innenstadt rund um die Hackeschen Hoefe sowie in Bezirk Kreuzberg findet man viele Kneipen, Cafés, Restaurants und Boutiquen.
Berlin ist sehr multikulturell, es leben Menschen aus ueber 25 Nationen dort. In Dublin gibt es kaum Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund. Die offiziellen Landessprachen sind Englisch und Irisch, obwohl der meiste Teil der Bevoelkerung Englisch spricht.
In Dublin haben viele bekannte Firmen ihren Standort, z.B. Google oder Facebook. Aber auch irische Fluggesellschaften sowie Banken und Verischerungen haben dort ihren Hauptsitz.
Berlin ist ebenfalls der Hauptsitz von vielen bekannten und fuehrenden Unternehmen. Air Berlin und die Deutsche Bahn AG sind einige davon.
