Trabajar Irlanda – Spanish in Ireland: María’s experience!

Hi everybody! My name is Maria del Mar Sierra, I am 23 years old and I come from a small town in the South of Spain, Almeria.

A few months ago I finished my studies in Media and Audio-Visual Communication at the University of Granada. Because of the situation in my country, I decided to do an internship abroad and improve my English skills. I contacted EazyCork and they offered me the opportunity to live my «second Erasmus» experience in the Rebel City of Cork. 

I did my first Erasmus in Italy and I am now working in an Italian/Irish company, perfect for improving both the languages​​.

For four months, I will move from the sun and the beaches of Andalusia to the green mountains and blue rivers of Ireland … and I’m sure this time will look very short to me! I have adapted easily to drink Guinness, I carry my umbrella in my bag at any time and I can listen to live music on the street everyday (I love it!).

But certainly what I like the most about Ireland are not its landscapes, gastronomy or traditions … the best of Ireland is… people!

They are always very positive and they always have a smile on their face.

I feel very lucky and happy to live this adventure with EazyCity, learning a lot of things everyday with my colleagues in the office. And my house-mates are like «English teachers» for me.

I am not sure that I will change anything of Cork, but one thing is sure… Cork will change me!!
