Sono arrivata in Irlanda quasi tre anni fa.<\/strong> In questo periodo tantissime cose sono cambiate<\/strong> nella mia vita e Dublino<\/a>, in questi anni, \u00e8 cambiata con me. In quest’articolo parleremo dei pub antichi <\/strong>di Dublino<\/a>: la loro storia ed i relativi aneddoti.\u00a0<\/strong> Tuttavia, alcuni di questi pub<\/strong> non hanno superato la prova del tempo ed ora\u00a0non esistono pi\u00f9<\/strong>. Parleremo brevemente anche di questi nei praragrafi a venire.<\/p>\n

3 anni a Dublino: esempi di cosa \u00e9 cambiato<\/h2>\n

Come molte delle grandi capitali europee, Dublino<\/a> \u00e8 una citt\u00e0 in continuo movimento.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dal balcone di casa mia fino a qualche settimana fa<\/strong> potevo vedere gli uffici di un rental car<\/strong> mentre oggi, mentre scrivo, stanno scavando le fondamenta per un hotel<\/strong> che occuper\u00e0 la mia visuale e ruber\u00e0 il cielo ai miei occhi.<\/p>\n

Come \u00e8 successo al rental car, anche altri locali di Dublino hanno avuto la stessa sorte<\/strong> e me ne dispiaccio molto perch\u00e8 alcuni erano tra i pi\u00f9 antichi, i meno frequentati dai turisti<\/strong> ed i pi\u00f9 tipici della citt\u00e0.<\/p>\n

2 pub tra i pi\u00f9 tradizionali e antichi hanno chiuso i battenti<\/h2>\n

Mi \u00e8 venuta un p\u00f2 di tristezza quando hanno demolito<\/strong> il Neds\u00a0Of\u00a0Townshend Street<\/em><\/strong>, era un pub frequentato solamente dagli irlandesi.<\/strong> Una sera, con le lacrime agli occhi ed in mano una Guinness, un cliente mi disse che quello era il suo rifugio<\/strong> e che andava l\u00ec quasi ogni sera dopo lavoro. Mi disse che quel pub era l\u00ec da sempre<\/strong> e che si sentiva come se stesse per dire addio ad una persona cara.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Townsend bar was and still is more well known as Neds of Townsend street. It changed recently to be craft beer pub and the new name is a reflection of the new approach. We walked past it yesterday on the way into town and not for the first time, we've yet to pop in for a pint. The location of Townsend street obviously hasn't changed even if the bar has and that's why it's a strange thing to see a craft beer pub around here. There are lots of offices and businesses in the area and also a lot of apartments and flats but it still seems that Townsend street is one of those back streets that you only ever walk through as a shortcut. You rarely go for a visit to this area of town even if it is pretty much city centre. This could change with all the construction happening in the area. While we haven't stopped in Neds yet I think it'll be on the cards very soon just t tick it off the list.
