Can Irish be an international language? And is it spoken just by Irish people?

The video has been commissioned by Flavour of Italy, to celebrate the opening of their new venue in Temple Bar, right in Dublin vibrant city centre.
We interviewed Marco and Maurizio, founders on Flavour of Italy to understand better their project in Dublin.
Hi Marco and Maurizio, could you tell us something about Flavour of Italy? What do you offer? Which are your services?
The aim of the group “Flavour of Italy” is to promote Italian culture through Italian food and wine tradition.
This project is structured on the combination of different services such as the travel agency, the Italian School of Cooking, the Catering Department, import-export of typical products, the restaurant Pinocchio in Ranelagh and our newest project: Pinocchio in Temple Bar, which is both a restaurant and wine-bar and a Cooking School.
Why did you decide to open your new venue in Temple Bar?

Dublin is a young and lively capital, a city that welcomes and appreciates originality, and which gives many opportunities to enhance it.
Who are the students of your Cooking School? Can anyone attend even if they don’t have any basic knowledge of cooking?
Our Cooking School is designed to stimulate anyone who wants to learn cooking: our classes are “mani-in-pasta” (literally “hands in the dough”) – not just demonstrations – and we cover a large array of recipes from various Italian regions.
Our students come in every form and shape, from the many multinational corporations operating in Ireland which are looking for team building activities for their international teams, to general public, chiefly Irish people in love with Italy.
Which kind of course do you organise? And which is the most popular one?
Our courses focus on the Italian culinary heritage, with a special consideration to the regional recipes. Everything is prepared by the students, starting from scratch from the basic ingredients.
One of the most popular classes is the one about pizza, calzone and focaccia, since it’s extremely colourful and funny.
Where does the idea of the video Folacháin come from?
We made a video in Irish to promote the Irish Language to mark the opening of our new premises in Temple Bar. Officially funded by Conradh na Gaeilge (the Gaelic League), under the Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish language Week) scheme which awards funding to projects that promote a positive attitude towards the Irish language.
Six Ambassadors decided to join in the project learning some Irish: Italy, Spain, France, Pakistan, Israel and Palestine.

More than just a singular event, our job is an inexhaustible source of satisfaction.
As Italians we can feel that our Group helps to spread the knowledge of the most authentic Italy and to promote it abroad.
